Sunday, So after 5 days any confidence I had in Danish has been extinguished and then my companion tells me hey, we have calling in the branch, this is during our walk to church, we perform the blessing of the sacrement and you have a 5 minute talk. I flipped out inside for a second and then started working on a talk in my head. We did the sacrament and it took me about two minutes to read the prayer correctly then I had a talk. I stumbled through a spiritual thought that I love in Alma 26 and then bore my testimony to all 8 members of the branch. Oh yea so there were 8 members there at this meeting and 2 were under the age of 5 one was 20 one 38, and the rest over 65. But after I bore my testimony I went and sat down the bishop stood up and bore his testimony about the gift of tongues and how impressive it was that I could speak so well after 6 days. The spirit I felt then made me tear up, and I have not teared up like that for a couple of years. There have been many miracles that I have seen in our work so far and I can not wait to be able to speak without fear.
I love and miss you all so much. Ældste Vance

June 19th
There is a quote that I think of every time that I am having trouble. "Missionary work is not easy but it was never easy for Christ". Between that and "missionary work is just Gods' bring your kid to work day" I know that things will be hard, and I will face a lot of rejection, the language is not easy, but I will make it no doubt about that.
In terms of spiritual experiences the entire time I am here at the mtc (missionary training center) I am drinking out of a firehose it is constant and strong but difficult to pinpoint any one time that I have really felt the spirit stronger than any other time.
If you want to be humbled my teacher explained to us just how small and insignificant the human race really is. Our sun is like a grain of sand on the beaches of the universe and our planet is like a discoloration on a grain of sand, and we as people are too small to be seen like an electron on the speck on the grain of sand on the beach, but we are made in gods image and we are his children, crazy right.
From what I have found out though there are five kinds of missionaries
1-the book worms, they know a lot but drown the investigator
2- the fearless, they challenge everyone every time they see them (a little over eager)
3- flow riders, let the spirit do it all, the investigator never learns
4- teach principles like there is a perfect line between right and wrong in terms of difficult principles
5- love them through service
Sound familiar? right it is possibly the strangest thing but this is what I concluded to be a good missionary you have be Divergent. HAHAHA you have to combine the different ideas and find what works. I have thought a lot about how everything we do is a reflection of Christ, the atonement, or the plan of salvation. (just listen to son of man from Phil Collins and think of your purpose of life it will blow your mind).
